About us

Abc Montessori preschool was set up in 2006 and is managed by Teresa Duffy. We are a degree led preschool ( Ba Hons in Teaching & Learning)and all staff also hold Montessori teaching qualifications( major level 6). The classroom is fully equipped and our program of care covers a wide range of activities, including piano, Irish introduction, Buntús Sports,( National Sports Council)Yoga and wellbeing, (Mini me yoga), seasonal and environment explorations. The class takes fifteen children each year, so you can be assured of lots of attention given to your budding scientist, artist, writer , inventor or whatever your child shows interest in !

Pre-School Montessori teaching to children from the age of two and a half up to six years, children should be day time toilet trained.

Classroom

Our teacher/ child ratio is very low with lots of individual attention which larger classrooms may not provide, it also allows for quieter periods where concentration and time may be given to individual interests. Our classroom is a fully equipped Montessori environment having specific materials to enhance learning opportunities for all children. Enquiries are welcome to ensure we can offer an inclusive educational program and support for all children. Our outdoor space is a large garden area with lots of areas to run, climb, play games, explore the vegetable patch, build sandcastles, play football, ride a bike or scooter, play house or go bug hunting!

Program

Montessori is about being able to take time to develop at your own pace. We strive to encourage and challenge children where we see skills developing, areas such as language, maths, culture and social interaction skills are all enhanced with quality equipment and trained staff. We are open Monday > Friday 9:30 till 1pm, coinciding with the local primary schools. A full calendar is provided. Children are covered by insurance within school hours during indoor and outdoor activities. Our policies and procedures are available and are submitted to parents at the start of each year. Our care plan is on display at the entrance. Activities are displayed weekly on the notice board and we welcome all ideas and thoughts from families on areas you may think your child is interested in.
